Technical Education vital in creating self-employment avenues : Ansari | KNO

JAMMU, JANUARY 18 (KNO) : Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology and Technical Education, Imran Raza Ansari today said that the Government is committed to strength and augment the technical education sector which would ensure that youth are able to create self-employment avenues for themselves and others. The Minister was addressing during convocation cum felicitation function organized by Technical Education Department at ITI Jammu here today. Ansari said that setting up of ITIs across the State was aimed to provide skill training to youth to enhance their employability. He said that skill development is a critical sector that needs attention to overcome the problem of unemployment in the State. Ansari said that the Government has already initiated several measures to augment the sector so that the youth of the State are provided with the requisite technical expertise. He said that Skill India Initiative is a game changer which has ensured that more and more youth get the requisite employment. Ansari suggested the students to get full benefit of facilities being available for them to excel in their life. The Minister emphasized upon the officers to aware people about the benefits of skill training adding that it is need of the hour and several ITI pass outs have set up their own establishments and are giving employment to others. The Minister on the occasion announced that new ITIs would be established at Aknoor, Paddar and in Rajouri with the aim to provide technical training to youth of the area. Director Technical Education, Shabnam Kambli, Secretary State Board of Technical education, Principal ITI Jammu and other senior officers were present on the occasion. The Minister also distributed certificates among the pass out students. Ansari also visited various trades of ITI Jammu and also interacted with the students and faculty members.(KNO)
